SO hard to be good

Sigh, my wonderful sushiboy called me this evening and told me he was able to find a great deal on a new laptop. My laptop is old, I want a new one. This was a great deal. However, I was good, I stuck to my resolutions and I'm not getting it, even though I really, really want to. We would have had to put it on a credit card and one of my resolutions was to not use them unless we had too. My laptop still works and so I'm not getting it. :( I do still think we made the right decision, I'm just mouring the idea of a new awesome laptop. It will feel so great when those cards are paid off and we are able to have cash in the bank for great deals like this!

Good!

We keep hearing about how the switch to digital television is going to be delayed. Apparently the bill was defeated today. My big question is when did television become something that was considered a necessity? Why is the government giving coupons in the first place so people can watch tv? Wouldn't we all be better off with less tv anyways? And finally, whatever happened to personal responsibily in the matter? If you didn't get your coupons and boxes when they have been telling you too for the last year then too bad. Don't get me wrong. We probably watch too much tv at our house ourselves. However, if we weren't prepared for the switch over, too bad, our family would be better off without tv anyways. Here is the link to the story.

My foot hurts

Sushi asked if I had posted about this, I guess I should. I went to the doctors today because my foot has been hurting for about two weeks and the pain just keeps getting worse. I have Plantar fasciitis which according to Wikipedia is:
Plantar fasciitis is a painful inflammatory condition of the foot caused by excessive wear to the plantar fascia that supports the arches of the foot or by biomechanical faults that cause abnormal pronation.[1] The pain usually is felt on the underside of the heel, and is often most intense with the first steps of the day. It is commonly associated with long periods of weight bearing or sudden changes in weight bearing or activity. Obesity, weight gain, jobs that require a lot of walking on hard surfaces, shoes with little or no arch support, and inactivity are also associated with the condition.

Plantar fasciitis was formerly called "a dog's heel" in the United Kingdom. It is sometimes known as "flip-flop disease" among US podiatrists. The condition often results in a heel spur on the calcaneus, in which case it is the underlying condition, and not the spur itself, which produces the pain.[1]

Wikipedia seems to be right about this, this pretty much matches all that the doctor told me, so I'm off to a podiatrist here soon and I "get" to wear sensible shoes from now on. Yippee. I pretty much wear whatever shoes I can find to fit on my fat feet when I'm pregnant and that means ballet flats and flip flops. I also have recently been 30 lbs heavier. Hopefully I caught this early enough that I won't need surgery. I have three kids, I can't have surgery on my foot! You can wiki it if you want, there is more description but I didn't want to bore you all with long drawn out medical info.

He just keeps growing

Wow, tank, cakes and I had a WIC recertification so they weighed tank, at six weeks he is . . . (drumroll please). . . 12lbs 14oz and 22 3/4 inches long. That means that in six weeks he has gained 3 lbs and 4 oz, and grown 2 1/4 inches. WOW. pretty crazy. I am having a harder time cutting back on calories than I wish I was having. I'm just so stinking hungry all the time. Any ideas on low calorie filling foods would be great. I am however, loving exercise again. I have been using sushi's treadmill and watching a show off the internet while I walk for 45 minutes. It feels great. Still doing good on the other resolutions but having a bit of a difficult time getting my calendar to be full for pampered chef. It will happen, I just seem to be getting a lot of "no" replies from people lately. Well, that is about it. I hope you all are having a wonderful night!

Resolutions

I have been mulling over this subject for a while. I think I have finally come to a conclusion on what I want to write down as my resolutions. So, here goes. . .

1- lose the baby weight plus 20- I'm down to 10 lbs left to go and the last 20 are left over from my first two kids so I have a about 30 lbs I want to lose within the next year. I feel like that is a reasonable goal with eating right, working out and breast feeding. I had my six week check up yesterday and my OB told me that I could cut calories and increase my liquid intake and the milk production would still be fine. In fact, he highly encouraged I do this since "the next two months are the prime time to drop the lbs." I'm hoping to lose about half of this within the next couple of months and let the last half come off more slowly. Wish me luck!

2- become a Pampered Chef director. This will be such a help financially for our family. If I could bring in a little bit more every month it would fill in the gaps left by sushiboy having to cut back a little on hours to finish school. I'm almost there. I just need to keep on doing what I'm doing and I will be there in no time.

3- Pay off most if not all of our credit card debt. We're already constantly working on this. I want it to be done. We've already taken steps to help with this, we no longer are eating out (even fast food) unless it's a special occasion. The kids miss eating out but truthfully this is the last area of our budget left that we can cut back on and it will save us tons of money which in turn will be able to go to debt, plus the Pampered Chef money goes to debt as well. And, it will help with resolution #1 as well. Also, I am trying to take the approach of if we can't get it with the debit card, we don't get it. In other words, we are no longer using the darn cards unless we have to.

I'm hoping these goals won't be too difficult. But, if only half of them get accomplished then at least we're half way to where we wanted to be which is farther than we were! Wish me luck, I may just need it.

Cakes sings to Tank

Just a quick little video, today Cakes was holding Tank and started singing to him so I grabbed my camera quick and caught it. It's really cute! Does anyone know how to rotate the darn thing? I can't seem to figure it out.

finally the pictures.

Well, here you go, here are the pictures finally. The first picture is to remind you of what I looked like December 2, remember. . . my poor huge belly

Photobucket

Here is what I look like now, not too shabby for a month later, I still look very pudgy but that will go in time. I feel pretty darn good about how quickly the belly is going down.

And here are the slideshows. The first is of our family pictures and tank's two week old pictures.

This next slideshow is from christmas and stuff until current. We start out with cake's dance recital, followed by chrismas pictures, then a funny picture of tank with his twin cousins all wearing shirts that say "silent night, yeah right" it cracks me up because the boys are just chillin' and the girl is screaming her head off. Then there is a great picture of tank in his new bath towel he got for Chrismas, a cute picture of tank and cookie together, followed by some pictures of my sister's kids and her daughter in her blessing dress. enjoy!

The Porcelain God

I have some pictures I need to post of Tank but I have been sick and/or busy and haven't gotten a chance to post. I just wanted to let you all know in blogging land that I am alive and breathing. I spent Tank's one month birthday praying to the porcelin god. Thankfully I am feeling better today. Tank is changing everyday. He is starting to giggle and smile a lot and is holding his head up very well. Christmas was craziness with something going on almost every day for about a week. But it was fun and the kids had a great christmas. Well, hopefully I'll get a chance to post those pictures tomorrow! We'll see if I have time, my sister is visiting from Michigan and her husband is blessing her baby tomorrow so we will be up by my parents tomorrow. ttfn!
