SO hard to be good
Sigh, my wonderful sushiboy called me this evening and told me he was able to find a great deal on a new laptop. My laptop is old, I want a new one. This was a great deal. However, I was good, I stuck to my resolutions and I'm not getting it, even though I really, really want to. We would have had to put it on a credit card and one of my resolutions was to not use them unless we had too. My laptop still works and so I'm not getting it. :( I do still think we made the right decision, I'm just mouring the idea of a new awesome laptop. It will feel so great when those cards are paid off and we are able to have cash in the bank for great deals like this!

Good for you! We're trying to be good too - but some things are SO tempting!
Good for you. I wish I could just spend away, but holding back builds faith in yourself and faith in the future.
Oh...you are MUCH better than I am. I would have given in. Ask Steven - he is the strong voice of reason and budgeting. I am the voice of "but it's a good deal" or "let's eat out just this once".
I am really impressed. Good for you.
J.
I'm eyeballing one of those tiny little EeePC Netbooks. I don't know if I can stop myself. My laptop is fine, but I often find myself thinking that it's just too big, especially when I'm lugging it from the truck to a hotel room and back.
It's really hard to stick to those resolutions, especially when you don't need it but just want it.
Katie- yes, yes they are, this was very tempting.
leslie- it's true, and we have been counseled and counseled to get out of debt and not live beyond our means. This would have been living beyond our means.
hoosiergirl- lol, sushi and I are working on that and thanks for being impressed, right now I keep reminding myself this is better.
nobody- mine is just so S L O W, but it works so it'll have to do for now, plus it is a little large.
Teri- you're right, it is just a want and not a need.
If only I had your willpower! I'd lose these extra 10 pounds on me. :)
you made the correct choice....difficult as it maybe....if you have to stop blogging use the card...we would miss you
Meritt- lol, I wish I could lose those extra ten lbs on me!
Cheer- AWW, thanks!
Yay for you!
Hurray for you.
I think you did the right thing for you and your family.
I like Dave Ramsey. Find his latest book and casually read the topics, and you will discover that you just made a very big baby step.
My goal is to one day live like some other religious people are preaching.......debt free!!!
