I saw this over at cheer 34's blog and since I am a firefly junkie and feel like the canceling of this show was one of the greatest injustices ever I had to take this quiz. Enjoy, pictures of the weekend are coming.

A nice warm weekend
I am going on vacation! I called my Mom the beginning of this month and told her I was ready to just pack the car and run away and go camping for the weekend, unfortunately, I had other obligations that weekend so I couldn't. I just wanted to go camping and hiking and get warm in southern Utah. It's only a 4 hour drive or so and such a fun get away. Anyways, I am going on thursday and I won't be back until saturday night. The funny thing is that it has morphed into a family vacation with my Mom, Dad, two teenage sisters, brother and sister in law. We're going to capital reef, there are lots of easy hikes the kids can go on and the most important thing is, it is warm!!!! Don't have too much fun without me! I'll be back with pictures of my beautiful state.

guess what I did this weekend?
Did you guess yet? I bet you can't guess. . . here is a clue, it has to do with water. . . Ok, here you go
I installed this new faucet in our kitchen sink.
Our old faucet kept having the handle come off so every day I would have to screw it back in. Needless to say installing it was quite an adventure. Our old faucet was completely rusted together where it was supposed to unscrew it to remove it. We had a neighbor who has lots of tools come and use his sawsall (spelling?) to literally cut the old one up to get it out. After that the new one went in great but getting the old one out was crazy. I feel quite proud of myself for doing this, I always am whenever I do something that is typically thought of as a "man's" job. Ironically enough I have more of an interest in doing stuff like this than sushiboy. He is great at fixing computers, I'm good at getting the swamp cooler going and winterized, unclogging drains, replacing faucets, etc.
On an unrelated note, my christmas cactus is blooming in March.

what a difference a day makes
Yesterday I had all the windows open and it was warm and wonderful. Every year I fight this, I get so excited but it always gets cold again. This happens in the fall here too. It will get really cold and then it will get warm for a few weeks then fall/winter really begins. It also does this in the spring, it will finally get a little warm and then it gets cold for a few weeks more. I have to remind myself that I can't do a lot in my garden until May. sigh. I am ready to dig in the dirt and get my hands dirty. So today this is what we woke up to.
Every year it's the same, you think I would learn. We also all woke up late today both kids were late to preschool because it was dark outside so we kept sleeping. I should rephrase that, Cookiemonster was up at eight o'clock, cakes and I slept until nine o'clock. She was actually still asleep when I finally got up (which is unusual, she is typically up around 7:30 or so, you see why I don't set an alarm) and I had to wake her up. Anyways, like I said what a difference a day makes.

It's coming. . . .
Spring is coming and I am so excited! I can't wait for it to be warm and for the flowers to color my world. Today was wonderful, I have had all the windows wide open, it was almost 60 degrees here. Too bad it's not here to stay, tomorrow a new storm will roll in with slushy rain/snow. I have been going outside every day checking on the status of my bulbs (I planted 150 bulbs this last fall) and I am excited to announce they are coming up!! I also saw my first flower of the spring today, a beautiful yellow crocus, I love these flowers, they are the first of spring and so bright and beautiful.
here are some pictures of the bulbs coming up,in just a few more weeks my yard will have tons of color!!! Mabey even in time for Easter? Perhaps I'm hoping for too much. . .
Oh, and our mole/gopher is back. Yipee, I guess it's time to get out the poison.

Cakes' first ballet
Cakes went to her first ballet the other day, I guess it has been a few weeks. It was so fun! We went to see Hansel and Gretel, it was the opera put to a ballet. Cakes was adorable, we got dressed up and the whole time Cakes kept saying "I can do that mom" or "my friends can do that mom" . You see she is in a ballet class and she looks forward to that class every week. Afterwards we went and got some lunch together. We have had to cut out most unneccesary eating out to pay for the car so that was a treat. It was a precious experience I know I won't ever forget and I hope she won't either but she is only three and a half after all. . . Enjoy the pictures!
