I found a fantastic new blog. It's called
$5 dinners. It has links to a grocery store in your area. I'm totally diggin this. My local blog page
In the moment, is telling me that all the ingredients for corned beef and cabbage are on sale. I'll be making this for dinner tomorrow. It is also over on my blog list if you want to check on it there. Go look, you know you want cheap, nutritious meals. . . .

Very nice. Thanks for the tip. By the way, I think that you and Sushiboy should know that, when I am feeling a bit down, I go to his blog and look at that picture of Tank. He looks ready to take on the world and that picture never fails to make me smile.
Aww, thank you, he makes us smile too! We're sure glad to have him in our family, it took a while to get him here, we love him a lot!
Hey Superwoman, thanks for the mention. My husband is really excited for the corned beef. I'll be making a yummy split pea soup with it later this week, so check back.
Let me know if you find some good deals this week.
thanks for the tip.......I tried to use coupons this year....clipped them from the paper and online....what I found was that the coupons were for items I do not use at all.....or they were for multiple boxes of items that I would not go thru ina year...so for me coupons are not good....I also found that shopping at the farmers market is the best value for my money....if I can't find somethting there I go to PriceRite...walmart shopping has always been a bad experience for me....the produce is old and has bugs, the frozen foods like fish and some meats are from china. I have not had to buy paper goods in 20 years because that is G man's business so I get TP and paper toels, film and foil, cleaning supplies etc for free. I shop at our local butcher and fish store.
The recipes look excellent on the site so I will try them.....
I just re read my previous post and it sounds snobby....sorry That is not how I mean't it to be......
Kaycee- you're welcome! I also have an excited family for the corned beef
Cheer- Don't worry, I don't think you're snobby, I ran into the same problem with clipping coupons, the site is for things that are on sale at your local grocery store and planning meals around that. there is some coupon clipping but it looks like they usually recommend buying store brand which is what I usually do anyways. I also hate buying meat and produce from Walmart, I usually shop at Smiths (a Kroger owned store) which is so close I can walk to it in about 5 minutes.
Isn't that "JustDave" guy the nicest commenter ever? How cool that I have met you both!!!
Okay, I went to $5meals and from there I signed up for all kinds of things. I should be getting coupons and deal alerts from everywhere! Thank you so much for posting about this. I am so getting into this budget/couponing stuff.
