guess what I did this weekend?

Did you guess yet? I bet you can't guess. . . here is a clue, it has to do with water. . . Ok, here you go

I installed this new faucet in our kitchen sink.

Our old faucet kept having the handle come off so every day I would have to screw it back in. Needless to say installing it was quite an adventure. Our old faucet was completely rusted together where it was supposed to unscrew it to remove it. We had a neighbor who has lots of tools come and use his sawsall (spelling?) to literally cut the old one up to get it out. After that the new one went in great but getting the old one out was crazy. I feel quite proud of myself for doing this, I always am whenever I do something that is typically thought of as a "man's" job. Ironically enough I have more of an interest in doing stuff like this than sushiboy. He is great at fixing computers, I'm good at getting the swamp cooler going and winterized, unclogging drains, replacing faucets, etc.
On an unrelated note, my christmas cactus is blooming in March.

Great job! Those things can be a real pain to get out. At our last house I had to remove the entire sink to get the nuts off the bottom of the faucet! It was just too tight underneath to get to them, so I took the sink outside and used a but splitter to get them off.

Our tub drain is running slow, can you come over and unclog it?

Thanks! I'm quite proud of myself!
hehe, that might be an expensive repair, once you add in the plane ticket, hotel, and time on the job!

WOW< I would be scared to change the faucet by myself and I've been a homeowner for the past 10 years.

good job, and nice blooming cactus....G man is my handy guy around the house although sometimes he makes more problems from the original repair then necessary. To this day we do not have a door handle on our front door that fits, because he hacked sawed the original without noticing the original is a custom made one from the 1950's and a new one can not be found. head slap here and Doh!
