Spring is coming and I am so excited! I can't wait for it to be warm and for the flowers to color my world. Today was wonderful, I have had all the windows wide open, it was almost 60 degrees here. Too bad it's not here to stay, tomorrow a new storm will roll in with slushy rain/snow. I have been going outside every day checking on the status of my bulbs (I planted 150 bulbs this last fall) and I am excited to announce they are coming up!! I also saw my first flower of the spring today, a beautiful yellow crocus, I love these flowers, they are the first of spring and so bright and beautiful.
here are some pictures of the bulbs coming up,in just a few more weeks my yard will have tons of color!!! Mabey even in time for Easter? Perhaps I'm hoping for too much. . .
Oh, and our mole/gopher is back. Yipee, I guess it's time to get out the poison.

I'm jealous. It's still cold here, and there's still a bunch of snow on the ground. It was in the low 40's today though, so it's finally starting to melt.
I've found the best way to deal with a mole is to trap it. They make mole traps that work well. That looks more like a gopher hole though. I haven't had to deal with those, but my dad claims to kill them by putting propane in their holes. I guess he uses a weed burning torch on a gas grill cylinder, just turns it on without lighting it and shoves it in the hole for awhile. Propane is heavier than air so it will mostly stay down there and suffocate the gophers.
The ballet looks like so much fun!
I am wishing for flowers, you have no idea how much I would love to see some signs of spring around here!
nobody- mabey I'll try that, we have a horse field next door and that is where it spends most it's summer but in the spring and fall it ends up in our yard.
fantastagirl- it was fun, cakes was really cute and can't wait to go to another ballet. Spring will come, how are you feeling?
Stupid Gopher. Maybe Jewel will take care of it this year. Or propane :) I'm excited for the tulips!
We had two moles last year (or maybe it was the year before that we had the first one). Anyway, I caught one with a mole trap. Our dachshund caught the second one.
